BUILDING TRUST IN THE LORD (26):
The Ability Of God (9)

Remember, God’s names reveal His ability; what He is able to do, in order for us to trust Him. Let’s look at the last of the seven major names of God in Hebrew Concept.

Psalm 5:11 NKJV
“But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.”

7. ZEBA’OT

The names Yahweh and Elohim frequently occur with the word Zeba’ot “hosts”, as Yhwh Elohe Zeba’ot (God of Hosts). YHWH Zeba’ot is interpreted as “the God of the armies of Israel,” or “He who brings the hosts into existence,” in which “hosts” refer to the heavenly court of angels or to Israel.

    1 Samuel 17:45 NKJV
“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

The name Yhwh Zeba’ot was originally directly associated with the Ark, which was the symbol of God’s presence in the midst of His people (Numbers 10:35, 36; I Samuel 4:4; 2 Samuel 6:2).

The name gives an idea of heavenly hosts joining their forces with those of God’s people, or fighting on their behalf.

    2 Kings 6:16-17 NKJV
“[16] So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” [17] And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

God is the Lord who is mighty in battle (Jehovah Zeba’ot, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies). He possesses all power, authority and dominion, and is the winner in every battle or warfare. In His name, we can boldly declare to every resisting ‘gate’ in our lives…

“[7] Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. [8] Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. [9] Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. [10] Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.” (Psalm 24:7-10)

    “WE GET BACKING”

A couple of weeks ago, I heard these words in my spirit, “You have more working for you than against you!” I instantly knew it was the voice of the Holy Spirit! The Spirit of God, the Word of God, the Name of Jesus, the Cross and Blood of Jesus and the heavenly hosts of angels are all together working for me and on my behalf! And, of course, you too!!!

This why I love Victoria Orenze’s song, “I Get Backing.”

I walk with God the Father
    Walk with God the Son
    Walk with God the Spirit
    Three of them joined
I walk with host of angels
    All of them joined
    I get backing oh
    I no dey walk alone

May we come to know God as YHWH ZEBA’OT and have a confident assurance that those who are with us are more than those against us. If God is for us, who can be against us?

    Psalm 84:12 NLT
“O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.”

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
