BUILDING TRUST IN THE LORD (38):
The Strength Of God (1)

For weeks and months, I became so engrossed in studying God’s names and learning about His awesome and mighty works! However, the Holy Spirit began to move me on! By this time, I was already hooked! The Lord had become so real to me that it changed everything about me – my love for the Holy Spirit, my prayer life, my passion for the word, my relationship with others, and above all, my trust in God was deepening. I was really beginning to enjoy my Christian life!

The Lord, however, wanted to show me more about learning to trust Him, so we had to go back to the definition of “trust.”

To trust: Is to have complete assurance and certitude regarding the Character, Ability, Strength and Truth of someone.”

After learning about God’s character and ability, the next thing He wanted me to discover was His strength. How strong is God?

THE STRENGTH OF GOD

Psalm 24:8 NLT
“Who is the King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty; the LORD, invincible in battle.”

There is no question about how strong God is. God’s strength is manifested in His power. The scriptures declare this fact from Genesis to revelation.

Psalm 62:11 NASBS
“Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God.”

Revelation 19:1 NKJV
“After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and POWER belong to the Lord our God!”

GOD IS OMNIPOTENT

God is omnipotent, that is, Almighty and All-Powerful. Omnipotence is all-sufficient power. Therefore, God has all-sufficient power, that makes Him able to do and accomplish all things.

Ephesians 3:20 NLT
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his MIGHTY POWER at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

Revelation 1:8 NLT
“I am the Alpha and the Omega-the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come-the Almighty One.”

The Greek word for “Omnipotent” is ‘pantokrator,’ which means, “All-ruling” or “Almighty.” To say that God is “Almighty,” indicates that God has sole authority, rulership and dominion over all Creation. Therefore, there is no limit to His power! He has unlimited power and strength!

Revelation 19:6 NKJV
“And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!””

God’s strength and power is manifested to us in diverse ways, which we shall discuss from next time. In the meantime, let’s reflect on how strong and powerful our God is, and how much we need to trust Him! Perhaps, the lyrics of David Baroni’s song might help

“He is strong, so you don’t have to be.
You will find the strength you seek,
In the courage to be weak
So let go, let go!
Rest in your Father’s arms
Cos when you’re weak, He is strong!”

Our God is the LORD STRONG AND MIGHTY!!! AMEN!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
