BUILDING TRUST IN THE LORD (42):
The Strength Of God (5)

There is no greater way in which God’s strength and power is manifested than in the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. That was, certainly, an awesome display of power!!

5. RAISING JESUS FROM THE DEAD

    Ephesians 1:19-22 NLT
“[19] I also pray that you will understand the INCREDIBLE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power [20] that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. [21] Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else-not only in this world but also in the world to come. [22] God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.”

Apostle Paul prayed that God would give us the spirit of wisdom, knowledge and revelation, so that we would know the incredible greatness of God’s resurrection power which is at work in us, in the Person of the Holy Spirit.

    a. It was the power of God that raised Christ from the dead. Death could no longer hold on to Jesus as God’s resurrection power wrenched Him from its icy grip.

    Acts 2:24 AMP
“But God raised Him up, releasing Him and bringing an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in death’s power.”

    b. It was the power of God that raised and seated Christ at God’s right hand in the heavenly places; far above all rule, authority, power and dominion (angelic or human), and above every name and title that can be conferred, both in this age and world but also in the one to come.

    c. It was the power of God that established and put all things (in every realm) under Christ’s feet and authority, and appointed Him as supreme head over all things for benefit of His Body, the Church!

An illustration that could help us picture God’s resurrection power is Ezekiel’s valley of dry bones. Those were the bones of an army that had died and had been dead for so long that they were described as “very dry.” The LORD commanded Ezekiel to prophecy and call forth the breath from the four winds.

    Ezekiel 37:10 AMP
“So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood up on their feet, an exceedingly great army.”

What happened was incredible! Through the resurrection power of God, death lost its grip, as the life and breath of God filled, gave life to and animated this mighty army!

This is what is most remarkable about the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ; He was not raised alone, He brought out the captives of sin and death (including you and me) and established and seated them in Him, in victory!

    Ephesians 2:6 NLT
“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”

Through His incredible strength, power and might, God delivered and released us from the domain of darkness and transported us into the Kingdom of His Beloved Son!

    Colossians 1:13-14 NKJV
“[13] He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, [14] in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

    LET’S SING TOGETHER…

    Death cannot keep his prey
    Jesus, my Savior!
    He tore the bars away
    Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes
He arose a Victor from the dark domain
And He lives forever with His saints to reign
    He arose! He arose!
    Hallelujah! Christ arose!

    (Robert Lowry – 1874)

Oh, that you might know the exceeding greatness of God’s power which is still working in you and on our behalf. Perhaps, you will trust Him more. AMEN!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
