BUILDING TRUST IN THE LORD (45):
The Truth Of God (2)

To trust God, we must have confidence in His truth. Is He a God of truth? Can His word and promises be believed and counted on? Yes, indeed! Here’s what He Himself says about His word and promises…

Isaiah 45:19 NLT
“I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.”

However, what is incredible about God’s truth is that it is undergirded by two aspects of His divine nature – His omnipresence and omniscience.

GOD IS OMNIPRESENT AND OMNISCIENT

God is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere at all times; this is what makes God all-knowing, as He see everything, as El Roi. (Genesis 16:13). Everything is bare before Him, and He has accurate and absolute knowledge of all things. This is our evidence of the truth of His Word.

Hebrews 4:13 NLT
“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”

Psalm 139:7-12 NLT
“[7] I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! [8] If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. [9] If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, [10] even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. [11] I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night- [12] but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.”

God’s omnipresence, makes Him also omniscient; this means that God is ‘all knowing’ and has a perfect knowledge of all things; as all things come from Him! He is the God Who was, is and is to come (Revelations 1:8), and therefore, saw all things as they were, knows all things as they are now, and sees and knows all things that are even yet to come.

This is why we can believe and have confidence in the LORD’s dominion and sovereignty! For example, He knows, for sure, that one day every knee will bow to Him in worship and confess Him as God.

Isaiah 45:23-24 NLT
“[23] I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word: Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to me. ” [24] The people will declare, “The LORD is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.”

So, despite all that is going on around us, we can have this confident assurance that God is in control; He knows and has already declared the end of all things in truth.

God’s omnipresence and omniscience are the basis for His Truth. We, on the other hand, only know in part and, therefore, need to trust in God who knows all things and whose word is truth.

2 Samuel 7:28-29 NLT
“[28] For you are God, O Sovereign LORD. Your words are truth, and you have promised these good things to your servant. [29] And now, may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you have spoken, and when you grant a blessing to your servant, O Sovereign LORD, it is an eternal blessing!”

Hallelujah! Amen!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
