I have more than a song
Today I brought myself
I am the sacrifice
Lord receive this living sacrifice,
I am Your worship
Accept this living sacrifice
I am Your worship.

4. TOWDAH
Another Hebrew word for praise is “Towdah,” which comes from the same root word as yadah, but is used in a more specific way. Towdah literally means, “extending of the hand in adoration, avowal, or acceptance.”
Psalm 42:4 NLT
“My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks (towdah) amid the sound of a great celebration!”
Towdah is used for thanking God not only for what He has already given or done, but especially, for the things that have not yet manifested or been received. It is the of giving thanks or praise to God as a sacrifice, even before the answer has been received from from Him.
Leviticus 22:29 NKJV
“And when you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving (towdah) to the LORD, offer it of your own free will.”
Psalm 50:14 NASBS
“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving (towdah) and pay your vows to the Most High.”
This form of praise is done in agreement with or faith in God’s word; that God’s word is true, in spite of the prevailing circumstances. The praise becomes a sacrificial offering, as one lifts their hands in surrender to God in faith, for what He is yet to do or provide for them. For example, thanking and praising the Father for healing by the stripes of Jesus, even before the healing has manifested
Psalm 50:23 NASBS
“He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving (towdah) honors Me; and to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God.”
THANKS-OFFERING
The attitude for towdah is: “Lord, I’m thanking You and agreeing with what Your word says concerning my situation. It doesn’t matter what it looks like; I’m agreeing with what You have said in Your Word.” You may even go a step further and seal your praise by giving God a thanks-offering for unanswered or yet to be answered prayers. God often honours this sacrifice of praise by performing miracles.
Psalm 116:17 NKJV
“I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving (towdah) and will call upon the name of the LORD.”
Today, what ever problem or challenge you may be facing, take our eyes off them and turn to God; acknowledge what His word says about your particular problem or challenge. Then lift your hands and begin to praise and thank Him from the bottom of your heart, for His faithfulness in answering your prayers and giving you your heart’s desires.
Psalm 100:4-5 NKJV
“[4] Enter into His gates with thanksgiving (towdah), and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. [5] For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” AMEN!
