The Lord is asking for radical praise from us. Yes! It is time to raise our voices and release a sound of praise to our God!
Psalm 67:5-6 NKJV
“[5] Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. [6] Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.”
We have so far discussed “yadah,” “barak,” “halal” and “towdah;” four of the seven Hebrew words that show us how to praise and worship God. Today, we shall look at another Hebrew word for praise….
5. ZAMAR
Psalm 21:13 NLT
“Rise up, O LORD, in all your power. With music and singing (zamar) we celebrate your mighty acts.”
Zamar is, especially, used in the book of Psalms. It means to pluck the strings of an instrument and sing, in praise to God. Zamar is to make music with instruments and sing praises, to express adoration and joy in God’s presence.
Psalm 57:8-9 NLT
“[8] Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. [9] I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises (zamar) among the nations.”
The word one word “Zamar” is usually translated as “sing praises.”
Isaiah 12:5 NASBS
“Praise (zamar) the LORD in song, for He has done excellent things; Let this be known throughout the earth.”
1 Chronicles 16:9 NASBS
“Sing to Him, sing praises (zamar) to Him; speak of all His wonders.”
Zamar is one of the more common ways in which we can praise God, especially now; as we can access so much praise and worship music on YouTube, etc.
This brings to mind, Ron Kenoly’s “ANCIENT OF DAYS…”
Blessing and honor, glory and power
Be unto the Ancient of Days
From every nation, all of creation
Bow before the Ancient of Days
Every tongue in heaven and earth
Shall declare Your glory
Every knee shall bow at
Your throne in worship
You will be exalted, oh God
And Your kingdom shall not pass away
Oh, Ancient of Days!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”
“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
