Becoming A Fruitful Bough Of Christ (14):
The Fruit Of Faith (3)

“Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” – Helen Keller

In these challenging times, the most needed fruit we must bear, as Christians, is FAITH. We need to have faith in God and stand firmly on His promises. There is so much doubt and unbelief that the Word of God seems to have lost its importance and impact in our lives. Not only are many of us not reading it, many of us are not actively believing in it and walking with it.

1 Timothy 1:19 NLT
“Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.”

The word of God is the seed that produces faith in the believer. However, it appears the word is falling by the wayside, on stony ground or among thorns; so it is not yielding the fruit of faith in our lives. The challenges and cares of this world seem to choke the word and we either don’t believe or hold on to it in faith. It is important that we prepare our hearts to believe and develop strong faith in God.

REASONS WHY WE MUST HAVE FAITH IN GOD

Mark 11:22 NKJV
“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.””

There are several reasons why we must believe in God and have faith in Him, especially during these challenging times when things are constantly changing and nothing is stable or assured.

1. The Absolute Reality Of God

God exists and is real; He sovereign and above all gods. God is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent; He is in control of all things! (Hebrews 11:6)

2. The Consistency Of God’s Character And Ways

God is unchanging and unchangeable; He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Deuteronomy 32:4 NKJV
“He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.”

3. The Integrity Of God’s Word

Numbers 23:19 NKJV
“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

The integrity of God’s word is founded on His inability to lie. Jesus Christ is the Truth. God ALWAYS fulfils His word; He is so committed to His word that He has magnified it far His name. (Psalm 138:2)

4. God’s Ability And Power To Perform

God is able to do all things! He told the Prophet Jeremiah, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

Ephesians 3:20 AMP
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.”

5. God’s Willingness To Act/Perform

Someone might be able to do something, but unwilling to. God is not only able, He is more than willing to help, provide for, protect, deliver and prosper us.

Romans 8:32 NKJV
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

6. The Record of His testimonies.

The Bible is an simply an authentic record of God’s testimonies. From Genesis to Revelation, we have a record of His awesome works.

Psalm 145:4,6 NKJV
“[4] One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts… [6] Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness.”

7. The Guarantee of His Spirit

2 Corinthians 5:5 AMP
“Now He who has made us and prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the [Holy] Spirit as a pledge [a guarantee, a down payment on the fulfillment of His promise].”

Ephesians 1:14 AMP
“The Spirit is the guarantee [the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste] of our inheritance until the redemption of God’s own [purchased] possession [His believers], to the praise of His glory.”

As believers, God has given us the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of all His promises to us! Yes, He has given us the Holy Spirit as a guarantee!!! Hallelujah!!!

ENCOURAGEMENT

These seven points should encourage you to turn to God’s word and allow faith to build up in you. The Holy Spirit is with you to help you you believe and grow in faith. It is amazing the things that can be achieved in our lives and for God’s Kingdom, if only we would have faith in Him and in His word! AMEN!!!
