The seed of God’s word must produce the fruit of faith in the hearer. The greatest act of faith is to believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and in His death and resurrection. Indeed, to get born-again, one must hear the word of God, (the Good News about the Kingdom) and, if the ground of their heart is good, believe unto salvation.
Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV
“[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, [9] not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Romans 10:17 NLT
“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
Therefore, the fruit of faith is very important to both the believer and God.
THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH
Hebrews 11:6 AMP
“But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.”
Faith is an important and necessary fruit of righteousness. Without faith we cannot even be saved or have a right standing with God and please Him. This means that we must read and know what the word of God says about God and His Kingdom and believe it; we must believe that God exists, and reveals Himself to and rewards those who diligently seek Him.
Many believers do not build up their faith in God, beyond salvation. Many of us do not practise faith in God as a lifestyle. Many of us will turn to any and everything before we come to God, often as a last resort. Many of us live more within the context of our five senses – what we see, hear, feel, smell taste or touch. Of course, God lives outside the context of our five senses – He is Spirit!
CREATION
Hebrews 11:3 AMP
“By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.”
Another great act of faith is to believe in the creation of our world; that the worlds were created by God and came into existence by the power of His word. Unfortunately, the theory of evolution has undermined and badly damaged the faith of many.
Faith, however, is the beginning of our walk with God and spiritual growth; without faith we cannot receive the many promises that the Father has made to us in His word.
2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP
“For we walk by faith, not by sight [LIVING OUR LIVES IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH OUR CONFIDENT BELIEF IN GOD’S PROMISES].”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
