Becoming A Fruitful Bough Of Christ (16):
The Fruit Of Faith (5)

Having discussed and established how important faith is, as a fruit of righteousness, how then do we develop and grow in faith in our daily walk (lifestyle) and work (service)?

DEVELOPING AND GROWING IN FAITH

  1. Start by choosing to and making the decision to believe what the Bible tells us about God and His relationship with us. Pray and ask the Father for grace to believe in His word; that He is faithful and will keep His word and promises. (If you are struggling to believe, you may discuss this with your Pastor or another mature believer)

Mark 9:23 NKJV
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.””

  1. Earnestly start reading and meditating on the scriptures, especially the promises regarding what you need faith for, e.g. healing, provision, etc.
  2. Approach God in confidence and boldness, knowing that He exists and is able and willing to answer your request, and that Jesus Christ has given you access to Him.

Hebrews 4:15-16 NKJV
“[15] For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

  1. Pray to God based on His word. Confess or speak out the word; hear yourself speaking out the word. Speak it repeatedly, if possible.

Romans 10:17 NKJV
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

  1. Do not doubt. If doubt begins to creep in, go back to the word and speak it out. Do not entertain unbelief either. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you.

James 1:6 NKJV
“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”

  1. If necessary and possible, step out or take an action in accordance with the word, as a positive indication of your faith in God. Even if you are afraid, step out and do it afraid!!

Matthew 17:20-21 NLT
“…Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.””

  1. Be patient. Be diligent and persistent. Prevail in the word; continue speaking forth and standing on the word.
  2. Be expectant. Begin to praise and thank God, whether you see the answer or not, believing that God is faithful and will fulfil His word. Praise and thank God when the answer finally manifests.

Finally… ENGAGE ACTIVELY WITH THE WORD. MEDITATE ON, PROPHESY, DECLARE SPEAK THE WORD!!! BELIEVE AND STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD !!!

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
