What can God do to help us build trust in Him? He can do what His names says He can do! Another of His names is Jehovah Nissi…
4. JEHOVAH NISSI
Meaning: The Lord My Banner (The Lord my Miracle)
Exodus 17:15 NLT
“Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-Nissi (which means “the LORD is my banner”).”
In battle, opposing nations would fly their own flag on a pole at each of their respective front lines. This was to give their soldiers a feeling of hope and a focal point, and also to identify which side they belonged to. Moses, recognizing that the LORD was Israel’s banner under which they defeated the Amalekites, built an altar and named it Jehovah-Nissi (the Lord our Banner).
Psalm 60:4 NLT
“But you have raised a banner for those who fear you- a rallying point in the face of attack.”
This is what God is to us: a Banner of encouragement to give us hope and a focal point in life’s challenges and battles. Indeed, the enemy recognises whose we are as God is raised as a banner over us. We also need to recognise and have confidence in God as our banner.
Isaiah 11:10 NLT
“In that day the heir to David’s throne will be a banner of salvation to all the world. The nations will rally to him, and the land where he lives will be a glorious place.”
Jesus Christ is the BANNER, raised high to rally all to salvation, redemption and deliverance. Actually, this is part of our theme for 2024 and beyond… to raise Jesus Christ as a banner for all to see!
Isaiah 62:10 NKJV
“Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!”
As we face many battles each day, and it is awesome to know that Jesus Christ is our banner of hope, salvation, deliverance and victory. AMEN!
Oh, sing along with me…
We will celebrate our God!
We will celebrate our God!
Let His banner be raised,
Let His glory be seen!
We will celebrate our God!
AMEN!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”
“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
