IT IS TIME TO PRAISE THE LORD!!! (12):
Sing To The Lord... (3)

God is neither egotistic nor sadistic; He is not pompously sitting on lofty His throne, demanding that we worship and bow before Him, whether we feel like it or not, before He does anything good for us. (It was Satan requested that from Jesus during His temptations – Luke 4:5-7)

The truth is that God is completely self-sufficient and doesn’t need our praises. However, He deserves and is worthy of our praise, thanksgiving and worship. You and I would agree that it’s right to praise someone who is worthy of praise. We ourselves are pleased when we are acknowledged and admired for who we are and for our achievements.

Does God not deserve to be honoured, praised and worshipped for who He is, what He’s done, what He’s doing and what He will do?!

Revelation 4:11 NKJV
“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”

The great, awesome, almighty and powerful God who is merciful, gracious and kind; who loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son as a ransom for us, is worthy and deserves our praises. When we magnify God, singing of His wonderous works, from creation to the cross, to our salvation and into eternity, we invite Him into our lives.

Another awesome truth is that God takes pleasure in His people and would like His people to also take pleasure in Him. The Bible tells us that He rejoices over us with singing. Does He not deserved to be loved back and appreciated?

Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV
“The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Psalm 149:4-5 NKJV
“[4] For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. [5] Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.”

The Father deserves our praises; He is worthy of our worship. This is why the Bible instructs and encourages us to sing to Him. Whether you sing in tune or out of tune does not matter; God accepts either a melody or a joyful noise. Just sing to Him to express your love for and faith in Him.

Psalm 57:7-11 NLT
“[7] My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises! [8] Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. [9] I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. [10] For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. [11] Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.” AMEN!!!
