The Spirit of God is trying to convey something to us, which I pray we get to understand and respond to. God’s vision is that, one day, the nations of the earth would worship Him and submit to His Kingdom rule.
Sadly, many of the nations of the world are seeped in idolatry and worship the works of their hands. Many of the nations have established religions and follow after other gods. Most of the nations that have not been reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ are animist. They all worship and give praise to the creation, rather than the Creator. They know that the Creator exists, as He is revealed to them through His awesome creation…
Psalm 19:1-4 NLT
“[1] The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. [2] Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. [3] They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. [4] Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world…”
However, although the people have a witness of God the Creator, they are separated and distanced from Him; they find Him unapproachable, cannot see or engage with Him and/or are fearful of Him. So instead of worshipping God, they turn to worship His creation and the fallen spirits that associate themselves with it.
CALLED TO PROCLAIM HIS PRAISES
This is why we who have been reconciled with God and are partakers of His Kingdom, through Jesus Christ; have been called and mandated to share the Good News about Him with others, and introduce Him to them, starting from our families, communities and societies, to our nations.
It is only when the people of the world see us rejoicing in our God and King, praising Him for who He is and sharing our testimonies of His love, goodness and mercy that they will be attracted to Him. It is only when they have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seen it demonstrated in power that they can surrender to God and give Him the praise due Him.
PSALM 96
The writer of Psalm 96 envisaged this and aptly described it. Take moment to read and reflect on it.
[1] Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD!
[2] Sing to the LORD; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.
[3] Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
[4] Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.
[5] The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the LORD made the heavens!
[6] Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary.
[7] O nations of the world, recognize the LORD; recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong.
[8] Give to the LORD the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his courts.
[9] Worship the LORD in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him.
[10] Tell all the nations, “The LORD reigns!” The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. He will judge all peoples fairly.
[11] Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!_
[12] Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy
[13] before the LORD, for he is coming! He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with his truth.
AMEN AND AMEN
