One of my most, most favourite hymns is “Fill Thou My Life, O Lord My God” by Horatius Bonar (1808-1898). I have lost count of how many times I’ve sang it; from when I was a teenager in secondary school.
As we pray, await and expect a move of the Holy Spirit to make us better and more efficient and effective witnesses of Jesus Christ to a lost world, may we also make this hymn a heartfelt prayer and life pursuit.
TODAY, why don’t we all read and meditate on the lyrics and ask the Father to fulfil these words in our lives; that every part of lives would bring praise and glory to God…
1 Fill Thou my life, O Lord my God,
In every part with praise,
That my whole being may proclaim
Thy being and Thy ways.
2 Not for the lip of praise alone,
Nor e’en the praising heart,
I ask, but for a life made up
Of praise in every part:
3 Praise in the common things of life,
Its goings out and in;
Praise in each duty and each deed,
However small and mean.
4 Fill every part of me with praise;
Let all my being speak
Of Thee and of Thy love, O Lord,
Poor though I be and weak.
5 So shall no part of day or night
From sacredness be free,
But all my life, in every step,
Be fellowship with Thee.
Psalm 59:16-17 NLT
“[16] But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. [17] O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.”
Psalm 145:1-2 NLT
“[1] I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. [2] I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever.”
AMEN AND AMEN!!!
Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”
“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
