The Whole Armour Of God (14):
Shoes Made Of The Gospel Of Peace (2)

One day, in a dream, I was handed a piece of paper with “ISAIAH 52:7” written on it in many languages….

Isaiah 52:7 NKJV
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

God has given us shoes made of the Gospel of peace, as part of our spiritual armour. Something powerful happens when we share Gospel! Actually, our preaching of the Gospel is a declaration of war against the kingdom of darkness; as we share the Good News, the power of the enemy is broken and many are released from his clutches, into God’s kingdom.

Matthew 10:7-8 NKJV
“[7] And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ [8] Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Indeed, proclaiming, preaching or sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the most effective ways of engaging in warfare. When we share the Good News, we are standing in and taking the authority which Jesus gave us in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-18, to set captives free. The Holy Spirit empowers us to share the Gospel, and demonstrate the works of God by healing the sick, casting out demons, setting captives free, etc.

Isaiah 61:1-3 NLT
“[1] The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. [2] He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. [3] To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.”

This is the power and authority that God has made available to us, as we reach out and go forth to proclaim, preach or share the Gospel. The powers of darkness are intimidated and cast down.

Luke 10:17-19 NKJV
“[17] Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” [18] And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. [19] Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

PRAYER FOR BOLDNESS TO PREACH THE GOSPEL

Acts 4:29-31 NLT
“[29] And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. [30] Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” [31] After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”

Many of us don’t know how to readily share the Good News of Jesus; many feel unprepared, limited or even intimidated by the prospect. However, the disciples of Jesus prayed for boldness to share the Gospel, and a demonstration of God’s power to accompany their preaching. We also must make this our daily prayer and ask for opportunities to share the Good News with others and the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest, as promised by Jesus Himself.

Acts 1:8 NLT
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

AMEN AND AMEN!
