The Whole Armour Of God (21):
An Invaluable Lesson

After asking us to take the sword of the Spirit, the word of God, in our conflict with the enemy, Apostle Paul admonished us to engage in persistent and persevering prayer.

However, before we go on and further discuss how we can pray and effectively apply the armour, I would like share an invaluable lesson that the Holy Spirit taught me, to enable me to stand in every battle.

Ephesians 6:10,13b NLT
“….Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. …Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”

The Bible is very clear who has the upper hand in the battle of life – our omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God! He is the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord Mighty in battle. He is the great Shepherd who, right in the face of the enemy, puts us at rest by preparing a table before us.

Several years ago, the Holy Spirit spoke this clearly in my ears, “PSALM 56:9!” I opened my bible and read these words…

“My enemies will retreat when I call to You for help. This I know: God is on my side!” (NLT)

Yes, you heard right! Our enemies will flee when we call out to God. The Lord then gave me a picture of a child playing and someone coming to bother him. The child immediately cries out “Mummy” of “Daddy” and the person runs away!

Psalm 18:3 NKJV
“I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

Therefore, the key to victory over the enemy and his works against you is not to fear or spend all you time focused on him and what he may of may not be planning to do to you; the key is to turn your attention to God in prayer, press in to dwell in His Presence, learn to call upon His name, trust Him to deliver…

Psalm 27:5-6 NKJV
“[5] For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. [6] And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.”

Does that mean we don’t fight? Of course not. It just means we fight from a different perspective. Not out of fear, but standing firmly in the whole armour of God, with a full and sure confidence in the Lord! He then gives us His word to fight with and we are victorious!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
