The Whole Armour Of God (26):
There Is More Working For Us Than Against Us (3)

One of the most important things every true believer needs to remember at this time is that, as the Church of Jesus Christ, we are is His “Ekklēsia” or legislative assembly, set apart to carry His government and establish His Kingdom and will on the earth. (Matthew 16:18)

Therefore, we should have no doubt in our minds that there is more working for us and on our behalf than against us; as it is through us that God will fulfil His will in our families, communities, cities, nations and on the earth. (Psalm 110:1-3)

1. AUTHORITY AND POWER

However, one thing that must constantly be on our minds is that Jesus Christ has given us authority and power over the works of darkness.

Luke 10:19 NKJV
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Jesus told us this Himself, and if we believed Him, we would certainly have more confidence and operate differently when it comes to spiritual warfare.

a. AUTHORITY

Jesus has given us authority – Greek: “exousia.” This means the power of choice; the liberty, leave or permission to do as one pleases. It is the power of influence and of right or privilege. It is the power of rule or government (the power of him whose will and commands must be submitted to by others and obeyed). Authority is the legal and formal right to make decisions and give commands.

b. POWER

Jesus has also given us power – Greek: “dunamis.” This means strength power, ability; inherent power, that is, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth.

Therefore, when Jesus said “I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy,” He was in effect saying…

“All authority has been given to me, and I give you the legal right and permission, and the inherent power of rule and dominion to subdue and overcome all satan’s ability to deceive, accuse, intimidate or harm you – for those are merely his strategies.”

Luke 10:19 TPT
“Now you understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority.

Yes, Jesus has given us the authority and power for effective spiritual warfare, as we seek to bring change to our own lives, and our families, communities, cities and nations.

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
