Before we bring this series of teachings to a final conclusion, it would be great for each and every one of us to do an armour check. Wearing and taking a defective armour into battle is as dangerous as having none at all. Therefore, like all good soldiers we need to constantly examine and test the armour that God has given us, to ensure its effectiveness in our lives.
Ephesians 6:14-18 NKJV
“[14] Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, [15] and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [16] above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. [17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; [18] praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”
TEST YOUR ARMOUR
- BELT OF TRUTH – How grounded am I in the truth? Do I uphold the truth in all things? How much time do I spend studying the scriptures in order to discover and apply its truth? Do I know the truth concerning Jesus Christ?
- BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS – How confident am I that I have been cleansed from sin, justified and made right with God by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ? Do I take this gift of righteousness for granted and just live anyhow? Am I endeavouring to bear the fruits of righteousness in my life?
- SHOES OF THE GOSPEL – How well do I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how ready am I to share it? Do I even feel the responsibility to share this good news with others? Do I look for opportunities to do so?
- SHIELD OF FAITH – Do I have faith in God or am I plagued with fear, doubt and unbelief? Do I believe and am I confident about God and His word and promises to me – that He is with me, that He is my provider, sustainer and protector? Do I have faith in Jesus as my Saviour, Deliverer and Healer? Am I convinced that God is faithful and will never leave nor forsake me?
- HELMET OF SALVATION – Am I assured of my salvation? Do I believe that faith in Jesus Christ has secured my salvation, here and in eternity? What benefits am I drawing from my salvation? How well do I identify myself as a soldier in the Lord’s army, who has authority over the powers and works of darkness, and can fight with an assurance of deliverance and victory? (If you are not sure of your salvation, kindly send an email to info@womenintune.org)
- SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – How well do I know and believe the Word of God? How well can I stand on the scriptures and use them against the enemy? Am I confident in speaking out the word of God when I face challenges? Can I boldly speak out the word, in faith; knowing that it will accomplish what it’s says.
- PRAYING ALWAYS – What is my prayer life like? Do I talk to the Father about everything, both successful and challenging; or do I only talk to Him about my maternal needs? Do I pray for others, especially, my family, friends, community and Church? How much do I engage with the Holy Spirit in prayer?
All these are just guiding questions to help us with our armour check. May the Holy Spirit guide us and show us what is working and what we need to improve on. May He supply the grace for us to grow and mature in the various components of the armour. In Jesus’ name. AMEN
1 Thessalonians 5:21-24 NKJV
“[21] Test all things; hold fast what is good. [22] Abstain from every form of evil. [23] Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. [24] He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” AMEN!
Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”
“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
