For the past few days, I’ve been waiting on the Lord to show me what the next series of teachings should be. After all, He’s the Good Shepherd and He knows best, what to feed the sheep of His pasture. As I waited on Him, I felt the Holy Spirit leading us to go back to the series of teachings on TRUST, to build and reinforce our confidence in the Lord.
We are living in very challenging times, when there is so much uncertainty and instability; it appears that everything that can be shaken is being shaken. The covid-19 pandemic and the global lockdowns of 2020-2021 created an atmosphere of fear, worry, anxiety and oppression, which has lingered. Also, since then, things seem to be going from bad to worse, with economic hardships, social disintegration, wars and rumours of wars. All around us are upheavals, and there seems to be a prevailing sense of helplessness and hopelessness, even among believers.
Isaiah 50:10 AMP
“Who is among you who fears the LORD, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust and be confident in the name of the LORD and let him rely on his God.”
Despite what is going on in the world around us, the Father wants us to trust and lean on Him. The truth, however is that, sometimes it is difficult to hold on to the Lord in faith, especially when we are uncertain of His guidance or ways. However the songwriter encourages us that…
“Even when my faith is small, trusting Jesus, that is all.”
God is in control of all that is happening around us. He knows where we are at and what we’re going through. He wants us to learn to trust Him, that He is faithful, consistent and unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, and He is always able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think.
Therefore , for the next few weeks we shall embark on a journey of building up our trust in the Lord. This journey is particularly important to me, because I will be sharing nuggets from my personal walk with the Lord, and the things He taught me that enabled me to build up trust in Him
