STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED (28):
Conclusion

The collapse of discipleship and Christian education has greatly undermined the strength, integrity and authority of the Church. Many believers walk in error and are easily led astray through the teachings of pastors who are not biblically knowledgeable or doctrinally sound. Many believers are, themselves, biblically illiterate, and have shallow knowledge and comprehension of the word of God; they cannot even apply it to their lives, let alone teach it.

The early Church, however, knew how important it was to study the scriptures and interpreted them accurately. They had been given an enormous task by Jesus Christ….

Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
“[19] Therefore, go and MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL THE NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [20] TEACH these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

They had been mandated to go out and make disciples of all peoples and nations, by teaching them to obey and live by the word of God. They were ordinary men, with no special or formal training in the scriptures. However, they made the studying of the scriptures a priority and continued learning, so that they could teach and guide the people effectively. (Acts 6:2-4)

Through their diligence and hard work, and the help of the Holy Spirit, they became approved labourers of Jesus Christ; they taught the truth of God’s word, and the Gospel spread and more people were added daily to the Church.

APPROVED WORKERS

To become an approved worker in every profession, career or vocation on earth, you must study and/or undergo training. Without studying and training, you will not pass and fulfil the criteria for approval.

The same applies in the Kingdom of God. We are labourers in God’s kingdom and He does not want unapproved labourers in His service. He wants approved workers to handle His Kingdom business on the earth.

The simple fact is that, everyone of us is unqualified when we first come to faith in Christ, however, we must work hard at studying and building ourselves up, to become approved of God, in whatever area of ministry that He calls us to.

Romans 14:18 NASBS
“For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.”

Over the past few weeks, we have discussed this topic in-depth. Therefore, I encourage you to take time to go over the daily readings again (and again). As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you can put into practice or improve on. Knowing that it is the Father who approves us, ask Him to help you to grow and come into maturity in Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:18 NASBS
“For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.” AMEN!!!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
