STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED (27):
Approved Workers (6)

We are concluding this series of teachings by looking at the benefits and impact that reading studying the scriptures has on us, and how it prepares us for God’s approval. Let’s look at one more benefit, which to me is the greatest sign or mark of our maturity.

6. IT REVEALS JESUS CHRIST TO US

This is the best reason for us to read and study the word of God! As the word of God, your Bible is the foremost TANGIBLE manifestation of Jesus Christ you may ever experience and get to know, through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is because Jesus is the Word of God. The more you read, study and obey the word, the more you get acquainted with Jesus.

John 1:1-5 NKJV
“[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. [4] In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

John 1:14 NKJV
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

As the Word of God, Jesus is not only the Creator, He also reveals the mind, intent, plans and purposes of God for humanity. Jesus Christ, the Word of God took on human form so that we can see and experience the goodness, mercy, grace, kindness, righteousness and justice of God. Yes, through Jesus Christ, we can behold and experience the glory of God in our lives. (2 Corinthians 4:6)

1 John 1:1 NLT
“We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.”

However, you cannot say you love know and Jesus, and not love and obey the word. It is your love for the word of God that determines your love for Jesus. If you love Jesus, you will love the Word and obey it.

John 14:21,23 NKJV
“[21] He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” [23] Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him..”

Thus, as we prioritise reading, studying and obeying the Word of God, we begin to know Jesus more and experience the Father in deeper and more intimate way, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 6:1a NASBS
“Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity…”

The approved worker, therefore, is one who through the knowledge and understanding of the scriptures, is maturing and growing in their knowledge and experience of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom agenda on the earth. They are eager to obey the word and become imitators and true disciples of Jesus Christ, and are well grounded in His love.

John 15:10 NKJV
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” AMEN!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2024: “Building The Highway And Lifting The Banner”

“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him…. (therefore) Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!” [Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 62:10]
